More celebrities have been getting into trouble this week for irresponsible tweeting.
Sally Bercow has been fined £15,000 for a defamatory tweet sent last November towards Lord McAlpine and more recently, footballer Ryan Hall has been suspended from Leeds Football Club for boasting via Twitter that he is still being paid despite not playing any matches.
An exciting opportunity presented itself to us this year as we were preparing for the Waterside Shopping Centre’s annual student lock-in – We were told that The Only Way is Essex star, Lydia Bright, would be bringing her pop up boutique to Lincoln for one night only!
The world of social media has exploded into almost all aspects of our lives and now The Sol Wave Hotel in Mallorca has become the first Twitter themed hotel.
Decorated with a blue and white colour theme, guests can tweet and hashtag to their hearts’ content. Using Twitter to check in, order room service (#FillMyFridge) and receive exclusive offers and events all through the private Twitter community app. Real life human interaction has been limited to the online world.
Hotel visitors are encouraged to tweet, share photos and send private messages and virtual kisses through #socialwave hashtag. The hotel also hosts a weekly #TwitterPoolParty and guests can stay in the #SocialPartySuites, which will sleep up to four people.
