Award-winning integrated marketing agency, Lava, has welcomed its first intern of 2014 – a role enabling one trainee to acquire vast industry knowledge and understanding.

Hannah Porter, a 20 year-old Second Year University of Lincoln student, has joined Lava for a part-time PR & marketing internship. As part of her role, Hannah will be taking on administrative duties, as well as working on marketing related tasks such as research, social media and copywriting. Currently studying Business and Marketing and with five years experience in the hospitality sector, Hannah brings a high level of knowledge and promotional background with her to the position.

“It’s one thing learning marketing theory in an educational environment, but it’s completely different putting it into practice in real life work situations,” said Lava’s newcomer Hannah. “I’m really looking forward to working with such an experienced and knowledgeable team of marketing professionals. I feel my experience of having to juggle numerous tasks as a waitress will benefit me greatly in having to switch in between the different types of work I’ll be taking on at Lava.”

Joseph Degand, PR Account Manager for Lava, said: “Having Hannah come on-board will be beneficial for both her and Lava. Throughout the next few months, she will gain useful on-the-job knowledge and experience, while Lava will gain an extra pair of hands to help around the office!”

Recognised with over 30 awards, Lava specialises in design, digital marketing, social media marketing and public relations, implementing campaigns for a diverse range of clients across a variety of different sectors.
